Mr Ather Siddiqi has extensive experience in orthopaedic oncology, complex and revision joint arthroplasty and upper and lower Limb endoprosthetic reconstructions. His specific interest is Pelvic Sarcoma resections and reconstruction and improving clinical outcomes in this complex subgroup of sarcoma patients. He is part of the Oxford Pelvic sarcoma team performing approximately 15 pelvic resections per year.
Besides his clinical work, he is actively involved in research and education. His key research interests are 3D imaging enhanced/guided margin surgery in Orthopaedic oncology, augmented reality and mixed reality . He has also set up a trial to set up mixed reality as a navigation tool in guided pelvic resections.
Teaching
Mr Siddiqi has a keen interest in global health, innovation and technology, having been involved in global sarcoma education project, setting up and teaching on courses in lower and middle income countries. He is also part of the International Society of Limb Salvage Surgery education committee and was the core faculty / organizing team member of not only the main ISOLS conference in Birsbane in October 2024 but also co-leading on a preconference basic tumour course for lower and middle income countries. This comes on the background of his global networking and AO teaching experience.
His vision in life is to create a legacy by training future leaders in Orthopaedics and Sarcoma surgery and help improve clinical outcomes for patients by virtue of innovating tools for treatment, rehabilitation and reporting sarcoma outcomes.
