Mr Vasanth Eswaramoorthy is a Fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee replacement surgery, including complex primary and revision joint replacement procedures. He completed his Specialist Orthopaedic Training on the South East Thames Orthopaedic Training Programme, with training at leading centres including Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals and King’s College Hospital, London. He holds the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Tr & Orth) and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
Mr Eswaramoorthy undertook advanced fellowship training at internationally recognised centres. His Hip Fellowship at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals provided extensive experience in primary and revision hip replacement surgery, hip arthroscopy, and young adult hip conditions. This was followed by a Complex Arthroplasty Fellowship at St George’s Hospital, London, where he gained specialist expertise in complex and revision hip and knee replacement, infected joint replacements, and the use of custom and specialist implants. He also completed a Travelling Fellowship at University Hospital Bern, Switzerland, further enhancing his expertise in young adult hip pathology.
In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Eswaramoorthy holds a Doctorate-level research degree (MD Res) from St George’s University of London, awarded for research into the development of a novel hip replacement. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and regularly presents at national and international meetings, ensuring his private practice is informed by the latest evidence and surgical advances.
Mr Eswaramoorthy is also a substantive NHS Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals, appointed in 2021.
